Did the muffler shop f#@$ me?
I have a 03 denali, with a dual in single out 50 series flowmaster muffler. The muffler has 2 2.5 inlets and 1 3 outlet. They slid a 2.5 inch turn down in the 3 outlet and welded it shut, is this too much backpressure. have i lost or gained anything?

Yes I would be kinda pissed if they did that to me. Why didnt they use a turn down that was the right size.... You are pretty much bottled up as much as a stock system

Are you certain it was a dual in single out? If it was going from 3 to 2.5 isn't going to kill it but you won't see much improvement either. If you're looking for performance I'd try to plan out your exhaust starting from headers back.
But yeah, you may have took it in the tail pipe on that one

The stock muffler on my '03 chevy 6.0L had the 2 in and 1 out.. I didn't like how quiet it was so i cut the muffler off and just bent two pipes so that i could run straight duals out in front of the rear passenger tire.. I love it now, and as long as you have the end of the pipe cut at an angle it doesn't rap at all when you get out of the throttle. Knock on wood but in the last 4 years i've had my exhaust that way i have never had an issue whith the coppers either.. In some parts of the states i've heard that the coppers are a litttle more fussy about stuff like that though.. I love loud pipes..
