I remember the thread about Pacesetter and thought the conclusion we came to was that some surface rust was to be expected even on coated headers.

for 300bucks, i would expect some rust on them. My asm's are 3 years old and no rusting issues yet.
pacesetters remind me of jet hots and in 2 years the jet hots looked like rust magnets. Im sure where you live has some affect on them rusting also.

I've had my asm headers for about 8 months now and have little rust-just a few tiny specs on the surface. I doesn't appear to be "growing" so im not worried. Keep in mind though that these get two salt baths a week driving back and forth on I-88 to school.
Also hows the leds comming along-sorry we couldn't get togther yet been real busy with spring work.

I got my PaceSetter when they first came out. I had them coated somewher else though. They look just like they did with I got them from the coaters. You can see some hot spots, but I would expect that. It just looks like the paint is oxidized a little. There still isn't any rust on them though.

Yeah, I had some hot spots on my ASM's too but thats it. I was considering a set of Pacesetters for my new one, but now you guys have me re-thinking that. Actually, where can you get them coated at, I may just buy a set of the black painted ones and have them coated. lol.

Got the cluster in, haven't done anything else though, house projects keeping me busy lately.
The idea of getting them coated elsewhere seems like a good idea if the integrity of the ceramic coating seems questionable.
