Different Maf?

Default Different Maf?

so on my 05 SS i was taken the intake tubing apart and noticed that my maf has no screen and theres a aluminum piece thats like a air smoother in front of it.

its a delphi unit and looks brand new. i bought the truck in 07 and the original owner was a older guy. so idk whats going on. it was completely stock when i got it

I heard they descreened it, but I don't remember starting at what year.

There's part numbers for both descreened and with screen.

15900023 and 15900024 I think.

thats crazy. i hope it doesnt cause issues when i go to get it tuned. its a nice looking piece though.

Well you can buy a screened one for like 30 bucks on ebay if you wanted to try both.
