pretty much gonna leave it close to stock, i have truck headers that i cut the weird flanges off and welded 3 bolt flanges to. i dont have room for the factory y out of a truck. thats the drawback of a jeep.
my biggest question is: can i tune the motor to work good with this exhaust setup? or do i need more back pressure before i tune it?

Anything on your set up yet? I still say you should run one muffler. Your gonna have to find a way to get the Y pipe in there, even if it's a short one or have the pipes welded into one. Any pics of the under the jeep yet?

i talked to a local tuner that i might have tune my 5.3, he seems to think that the exhaust will be fine. i dont know if this makes me ok with the exhaust or not ok with the tuner. ill get picks tomorrow. the only way to get a y pipe is to make my own headers. i would rather not do that, its going to be a pain in the A$$

how hard was the 5.3 swap? i'm looking to do a HEMI swap on our little wrangler project.

tx, I was goign to do that in my 01 ram (the hemi swap), and was told many times that the 5.9 is torquier, but if I had to put a hemi in it, make it the 6.1 because the off-idle torque of the 6.1 is impressive, vs the 5.7's.
just what i was told.

the 5.3 was easy to put in the jeep, the only part that makes it difficult is the exhaust. i considered the hemi, but cost kept me from it. those motors are so damn expensive, and i can bolt in a ls7 if i need the ultimate in power, or 6.2 caddy. the flexability of the lsx series motors is imo unbeatable. i kinda wish i would have put a NV4500 in it instead of the 4L60E. but whats done is done.
