Do I have a problem?
While installing my pacesetters tonight, I was getting everything tightend up and when I was putting the oil dipstick "tube" back in it broke the tip of the dipstick. All 5 holes are still on the dipstick but it is missing about 1/4 or less of the tip. It went in the hole the tube goes into which drops into the oilpan. Shouldn't the magnet on the drain plug catch it?
Will it come back up with the oil?

Well I was told that the oil pump had a screen and a piece like the one that broke off would not pick up to the engine. I drove it 25 miles to the muffler shop and had the rest of the exhaust welded up without the cats. I bought some new oil and a filter and then drove it back home. I am changing the oil tomorrow morning. I hope the drain plug caught that piece of metal or I will drop the pan.
