Like others have mentioned, it only works if you have some sort of cai with an open element behind the headlight opening. It will do nothing for a stock box or other enclosed aftermarket intake. FWIW.. I take mine out evertime I go to the track.

The air filter straightens out the air and if you take it off it can cause turbulence in the maf and you can loose power IMO its better to keep it on. I take off my headlight too and it does help although I only gained a tenth with it.

Ya know when you yank the head light out you can see the filter through the hole. How could that not help. But, I never realized how often people do ask. Im going to tell them its to lighten the passenger side so the wheelie is even. lol

i take mine out. like mentioned above, it takes only a few seconds to remove and if it helps bring cooler air in through the front of the engine vice from the engine bay then to me it's worth it.

It is possible to make it work with the stock airbox. You have to pull the box out, loosen the clamp on the lid, and twist the lid towards the light. I went from 14.29 to 14.17......so I think it works.

I take my head light out and remove the bottom of the box and the filter. I then slant the top of the box so it acts as an air catch and forces the air into my custom made intake tube.
