Doug thorley tri-y's
So I'm almost 100% set on a set of tri y's for my truck but I wanted to hear from people who have them about what they think? And do you have any pictures? They say they're long tubes but to be legal I highly doubt it.
I'm set on these headers for my 2000 ECSB NBS 1500 2wd silverado because I live in Cali and I need to pass smog inspection so yeah. I'm cool with tri y's because I know they've been famous for torque and I like that.
Anyways yeah pics and opinions would be awesome!

No pics but I had them for years on my 01 Yukon 5.3. Any time you add headers it is best to get a tune but you can get by with the Tri-Y's because they are mid length and the design. I added them because of towing. The produced good torque from 1500 up to 5000, I was able to adapt them to my existing cats for emissions and I would get 10.5 mpg towing a 7500 lb enclosed trailer in OD at 65 mph. The only thing I did to the trans was put in vette servo and billit OD servo. Install is easy but you have to cut the y-pipe before the cats and install/weld the header flange.

Sweet!!! Yeah I wanna get a Blackbear tune but was wondering how long you can go without a tune? So I take it that you can go for a few weeks no problems?
So what was your experience? Positive? Did you feel a big increase? Would you recommend them to a fellow Cali guy?

For your year truck they are Cali legal. Before the headers, I could not hold OD on rolling interstate while pulling the trailer unless I was going over 80 after the headers and tune I could do it at 65 mph. Remember these headers produce torque and HP down low, above 5500 they will not make power like true long tubes but at 2000 they will moke a bunch of torque. Now add a Supercharger and you can be make real HP.

Got them on my 4.8 truck and love them. Don't have pics or anything, but they're hooked up to stock cats. Had to massage the exhaust a bit, as it doesn't quite fit as exact at the cats like the literature says it does, but that's really no biggie. I like them, and would definitely buy them again for a stock 4.8 or 5.3.
