Question Drive shaft lube maintenance

Hi, My dad has a 2000 Tahoe Limited Special Edition with a 5.7 with a 4l60e tranny. The mainentance records call for removing and lubing the drive shaft splines that go into the tranny every oil change. Has anyone modified there tranny output shaft to keep from having to do this procedure every oil change?
Thanks

I don't do it every oil change but twice a year. It sometimes prevents the clunking sound you will hear when you stop moving and then press on the gas again. Mine used to do it, I just wipe a little high temp grease on it.
