It is going to be a 5.3, but I am thinking on telling the guy nevermind on the cam.

id get a smaller cam..bigger aint also better

i wouldnt go bigger than a 226/226 580s/580s

People don't even realize that there's no nead to go with a .580 lift on stock heads. Stock heads max out at like .475 lift. You'll only gain about 8 cfm between .500 lift and .600 lift which is NOTHING

if your staying with stock heads ..the comp 212 218 .529 .522 is a damn good cam

back to the V6 to V8. search my threads and u'll find some good info.

To answer ur question, if u swap to cable TB V8 it will be the same as swaping from a V8 DBW to V8 Cable. If i were u, look for a wrecked silverado 03+ or parts from 03+. The pedal will have to be changed out to DBW. Engine wiring harness, front headlight wiring harness, underhood fuse block, interior harness, motor mounts and registers (things that hold the motor mounts), fuel lines, PCM or get urs flashed, and some more ****. If u already have power accessories like windows, locks, then it might be easier.

Best advice, take ur time, dont rush it or u will regret it. Like i said, read up on my threads and search for others. Honestly u are better off selling it and buying a factory V8 truck.
