I had my transfer case flushed and slip yoke replaced under warranty. First repair seemed to last for about 15 miles....second one for 2 days. This truck makes a bunch of noises...clunks, ticks, slaps. Always has though. As long as nothing breaks..I'm a happy guy.

After all, no matter how well you take care of and maintain your truck, in the end, it's still a truck.

Default Ughhhhhh

Its a shame, but I love my YUKON, but it seems that all the problems I run into and don't find "normal" is normal to GM. Piston Slap, Driveline clunks, etc... for a Top of the line GMC Yukon that went for $48K, I would hope that noises were correctable. Anyhow, just my opinion...

The clunk is normal if you have a 4x4. For the two wheel drive i just dont know about that one.

Get used to this one guys everyone's does it and there's not a lot that you can do other then the slip yoke nickel plate. Which really doesn't help either in my case(4x4) Just keep it nice a lube'd up every oil change or so and that's the best solution that I have come up with.

my clunk was a loose driveshaft carrier 8 mos after my lift. it was just loose enough to move and i must have climbed under there five times before i pushed on it the right way to make it move. other than that my truck does'nt clunk, sometimes it goes "eeerrrreeett" when i hit a driveway too hard at an angle, oh and on long sweeping right hand turns it feels like my steering box is "loose". e

well my 4x4 does a clunk always..of course my u joint went out on the rearend....trust me you will know if its going out....it makes more of a clang kinda like a small church bell....then when you drive it it squeals like ned beatty in dileverance.

Reading this thread has made me feel a lot better about my clunk. It is just like the TSB states, 2-3 up and 3-2 down.Annoying, but as long as nothing breaks, I can cope.
