Yeah the true flow is an oiled filter, but it works good, alot better than the K&N IMO. I had it on the Z71 for a while and took it through the mud and all, when I removed the filter from the Z, the foam part was dirty as hell, from offroading, but the back side was clean as a whistle, also inside the maf and all was damn clean, no trash seems to get through the foam part of the true flow.
I had the open air style airaid intake on my crew cab, and just did some messing around with it after the cam install and put the stock box back on with the stock paper filter and airaid mit and it ran much smoother and idled better and pulled harder than the open style filter. I think the under hood temps kill the open style filters. A buddy of mine did some testing with that and his scanner and with the open style filters the air intake temps were high as hell.
