Default dropping in ls1, got questions though

I am sorry i have been away from this kind of stuff for a while so i hope my questions dont seem stupid. I am dropping in a 04 low mileage 5.7 into the truck. I am putting in03 zo6 valve springs and a 220/224 532. 542 112 in for a cam. I know it seems small to some but i still pull quit a bit with it. My 216/220 pulled well in my 5.3 so i thought this would be close enough. Anyway, I see guys on here with ls2 timing set on their motors in their sig. What is the gain in doing this? Also should i put a ls6 oil pump in this while i have the pan off or should i leave it be? I am going to throw some hardened push rods in. I take it stock size should work just fine. { i could be wrong}
Thanks in advance.

since its a low mileage ls1, it would be ok to use the original chain and pump. The only gain in using the ls2 chain is its thicker and stronger, I would do it since its only $25 bucks or so

LS2 timing set has a heavier, fatter chain. I'll take some pics tomorrow to show the differences. The cam gear and chain are the only differences.

Most aftermarket cams have a slightly smaller base circle, so you might need something around 7.425" pushrods. Not sure though...
