I know a guy that builds them for 200 buck and can make them any amp rating you want.

PM thunder550. He ran a dual alternator setup for awhile. I remember him having some issues with it, but I can't remember exactly what.

I pulled over to change a flat on side the road, a fella stopped an asked "YOU GOTTA FLAT?" I said no i just hit 5000 miles, Figured id rotate my tires! heres your sign...

A couple of months ago I went fishing with a buddy of mine, we pulled
his boat into the dock, I lifted up this big 'ol stringer of bass this idiot on
the dock goes, "Hey, yall catch all them fish?"
Nope.
"Talked 'em into giving up."
"Here's your sign."

Your Audio equipment may be too BIG if you need two Alternators to keep your car running...."THERES" your sign!

Dual alternators will usually cause problems when running one battery. I have seen an isolator at one time that would allow you to keep just one battery, and run dual alternators, but don't rememeber where.
My suggestion, its what I am currently wiring up, is to install dual batteries, and use the second alternator just for the aux battery. Keep the circuits seperate, and it should be no issue. Plus, with dual batteries you can run your stereo from your aux, and still keep your main battery charged when the truck is off.

I am going to do Dual Alt's with my new motor... The correct way to do them is to have a second battery and run the second battery and alt as a standalone system. I will be rinning Audio equipment, off-road lighgs and anyother toys on the the second power system so that the primary alt system can run the motor and E-fans and that will give me a solid electrical system in the thend with no worries of toys taking electrical power from the motor, PCM, coil packs, Head lights and such...
