Duramax 6.6 vs Vortec 6.0 in 1/4 mile

Re: Duramax 6.6 vs Vortec 6.0 in 1/4 mile
I don't know if the 6.0 was stock, but the guy wanted to race. My truck has an $800 Edge Juice box which took 5 minutes to plug in. Most people don't realize just how easy it is to get power out of turbo diesels. It would take alot more $$$ ($upercharger) on a gasser to get that kind of performance, and it would take more than 5 minutes to install. I got the 4 position (40-90hp 150-250ft#) box for towing but found it was equally useful in the 1/4 mile. Edge has a new 125 hp version of the Juice box out now. I think it's time to upgrade and shave a few tenths off my 1/4 mile time. Then maybe I'll add some propane or nitrous and I'll be in the 13's.

dude, if you want your diesel to really run, then you need to stop playing around with that **** box and call quadzilla diesel performance in fort worth texas. ******* or 1-******* and ask for Quad, the owner or Jeremy. they are making the best programs and chips around right now. they had a blue cummins that smoked every other truck from banks, hypertech and everyone else.
EDIT- email Slowverado for the contact info

Matt, we have a sponsor PDQ Performance that sells parts for the diesels. Quad is not a sponsor here. Our sponsors pay for the right to advertise their products. Now if we had nobody that carried those parts, I would let it go.
Micheal: Those #'s are inpressive. I didn't think you could run N20 on a diesel, only propane. Am I wrong? I have heard of a propane injected powerstroke that ran a low 13.

you can run propane and nitrous on diesels. Quad's pstroke had nitrous and propane on it. and why can't one person give another a number? he wasn't advertising, i was helping someone out.

Thats a sweet run with that D max..What was your 60 ft time and I assume you ran in 4x4?
What kind of MPG do you see in town and highway driving.. Say at 75 to 80 MPH highway.. My 6.0 SUCKS on the MPG..

NOS & Propane are both catalists for diesels. I can get 100hp from a propane kit and it increases fuel mileage too.
On a highway trip from Minneapolis, MN to Elkhart, IN I got 20.33 mpg w/cruise set at 75. Typical mileage is 17-21, city+highway. Towing 16-19,000# I get 9-11mpg, towing 9-12,000# I get 10-12mpg. This is towing inclosed trailers so I'm cutting wind also.
At the track I run in 4x4 60' times are 2.01 - 2.02 w/the stock 245 steeltex's
