Dyno numbers for intercooled Whipple are here !
I just got back from the dynoing the intercooler. I went before the intercooler to get 'before" numbers and today I got the "after" numbers. The only thing different is the intercooler and the LS1 intake which was required to do the I/C. The weather was almost identical and boost was 1/2 to 1 lb less today.
The baseline back in January was 414 hp and 549 tq. Today I started off with 11 degrees of timing which is what I ran before the intercooler. It made 420/527 like that right off the street. I added 4 degrees of timing and it went to 431/549. 2 more and it went 450/540. 2 more and 474/574 2 more and it made 485/535 and finally 2 more and it was at the max for the day of 489/543. So I drove in with 11 degrees and out with 23 !! I guess my combo likes timing. The low torque numbers are misleading because the converter is so loose it is flashing way past the torque peak at the hit of the throttle. The dyno operator and I both think the real torque peak is somewhere on the other side of 600.
So compared with the before numbers, I left today with 75 more peak hp but the across the board gains of hp and tq were tremendous. Looking at the graphs it looks like it made 70-100 more tq and hp pretty much across the board. It sure seems to pull harder out on the road now ! Needless to say I left the dyno with a huge grin.
I am planning on getting the converter tightened and getting the spray hooked back up then going back to see how much this crate motor can produce. I am going to the local 1/8th mi track Sat to get some times to go with the numbers. I will post up what it runs but I am hoping for 7.50 or so.

nice numbers for sure.
can't you lock up the converter on the dyno? what are you tuneing with? i have my tow/haul button set up for they dyno. it shifts into 3rd at about 40mph and lock up about 45mph, thats something like 2000rpm. then i floor it and it stays locked.

Parish, I am still using edit to tune with. The converter is locked-I am running it up to like 70mph which is around 3000 rpm. That is about the lowest point where it won't downshift.
Right now I am looking at the A-tap log from that 489hp pull and frame #2 of the recording shows converter locked, 71 mph and 3042 rpm. Frame #3 shows 78 mph and 4080 rpm with the tcc still locked. The next 2 frames of data are 85 mph/4558 rpm and 90 mph/4663 rpm. You think that initial rpm jump is TCC slippage maybe? It shows locked the whole run. This is the same type Yank you had that you burnt the clutches up in.

i dont know about the converter sliping.
you can use edit to reprogram your "tow/haul" shift points so that it will stay in gear, it is a great dyno trick. when i get on the dyno i hit the tow haul and bam, locked in 3rd and locked converter. the "tow/haul" chart is under the performance shift perametes in edit.
