Question Dynomax Ultra Flo Question--'06 Silverado

I've got a bone stock '06 Silverado 5.3L and want to replace the factory muffler and keep the rest of the system. I'm seriously considering the Dynomax Ultra Flo SS muffler (p/n 17296) and having it welded on by a local muffler shop. I want something noticeably louder than stock but not so loud that it becomes an annoyance after a month. For those of you that have used this muffler how much louder than stock is it? Does it drone? Were you happy with the sound? I also looked at the Dynomax Super Turbo muffler but it looks like it wouldn't be much louder than stock?? I would appreciate any advice/opinions you can give. Thanks.

I have Ultra-Flo's on my camaro and I love them.. much quieter than say a 40 series Flowmaster but still has volume and depth. I think you would be very happy with them. The Hooker Aerochamber is also a really great choice and they are slightly louder but still sound fantastic. I believe there are some sound clips on here if you search. Don't run the super turbo's, the don't flow well and are very quiet.

Thanks sharing your opinion. Do they drone much in your camaro? Anybody else have muffler on their truck? Thanks.

Here's a sound clip of my truck w/ a DynoMax Ultraflo single 3" in/Dual 2 1/2" out dumped. Now this is with my old LS1 5.7 & TR220 cam, stock manifolds and cats.

I like the sound of it when your on it but it does have some drone around 1500-2000rpms. Its not that bad. It is fairly loud even at idle, my neighbors hear it every morning and they live across the street.
I'm now going with a Corsa catback and hopefully be drone free.

Yes, it does have some drone but we're not talking apples-to-apples here. My Camaro is 10:1 compression 357 SBC with 215cc heads and a 252/258@.050 solid roller cam. I have LT's and a dr. gas x-pipe with two ultra-flo's dumped before the rear. It's going to be loud no matter what I do.

That's true, thanks for clarifying. Anyone running this muffler on their late model truck? My main concern is excessive droning in the cabin. Thanks.

Hey, sorry I missed it that does help. Do you think it is louder because you dumped it after the muffler as opposed to keeping the stock side exit behind the tire? It does sound good though. Thanks.

It probably is a little louder in the cab due to the fact that its dumped right under it. I'm sure it might be a little better with the factor tail pipe setup, but I can't say for sure.
