Default e cutout install?

I have an electric cutout on the way and was wondering how hard it is to install them. I will have the actuall cutout put on at a muffler shop, but how hard is it to rout the wiring and hook up the switch? Any writeups out there?

Thanks

with mine i had them welded on then took them back to my shop, pulled the carpet back and ran the wires through an existing grommet (ebrake cable i believe) then between the frame and body and to the cutout

I ran mine intot the rocker panel from below (under the plastic cover) then behind the glove box to the switch in the dash. Its an easy install. DMH's work great.

Well i had the cutout working for about 30 seconds. It was working fine, then i turned off the truck and went inside. Now when i push the switch all I can hear is a click, but nothing happens.

How did you guys wire into the fuse box, or is there a better way?

Fixed the problem, sort of. The cutout only opens if the nuts holding it on are finger tight. If i try and tighten them anymore it wont open. Any one else ever have this problem with a DHM cutout. I dont want my $200 to fall off on the highway.

thanks

Did you put it through the recommended heat cycles?

I dont remember exactly but you supposed to bring iot to operating temperature then let cool for like half an hour IIRC. there were directions with the kit.

did you check clearance, you might need to remove some material on the flange, if the blade is hitting it?
