Why are these things so damn loud? One of the reasons i wanted e-fans was to get rid of the noisey clutch fan and these things are louder! My Dad has a 05 1500 gmc with the stock factory e-fans and his high speed is quieter than my low speed? These things a loud?! They work great but why so loud? Could the relays or the programingbe any issue with them cranking so many rpm's? If i can't get these things quiet, i'm going back to the clutch fan. HELP!!!!

FWIW, I walked in front of an 07 Silverado the other day at Oreilly's and the e-fans were LOUD. Probably twice as loud as my LS1 fans. I think it's normal. They have to move a lot more air than a car. Not sure why your dad's aren't as loud. If you're gonna sell em, pm me a price.

The NNBS Efans have a cool setup!!
At Different ECT the PCM sends different Voltages to the Efans..

They dont go "Full Power" till 235* and thats only 97%.

My Efans rarely come on unless its really hot outside or the AC is on.
Can you get a Video?
When i first got my Efans the motors had a good build up of Rust and were almost locked up. They made horrilbe noises. New motors fixed that, They are somewhat loud when both are on High. But its not enough to bother me..

What kind of current are these '05 fans supposed to pull? Together mine are pulling 40amps, about 20 each. Does this sound right? It's hurting my alt/battery bad. I just upgraded to a 180 amp alt w/ a smaller pulley and I'm still having problems when the A/C kicks on. Any ideas?

Ok, so what do you recommend doing to get the amps back up where I can use the A/C at idle? Already have a 180 amp alternator with smaller pulley. I'm out of ideas.

You should probably get the tune altered so that the rev's step up when in idle and the fans/AC are on.

180A is a plenty big enough alternator. I'm still running the OEM 105 with no issues.

Then why am I having so many problems. I finally just disconnected one fan just so I can run my a/c at the same time.

I have the power and ground connected directly to the battery, with power going through 50 amp circuit breakers and 40 amp relays.

What should the truck be idling at? w/ the a/c on? Maybe that's the problem.

It's just getting very frustrating. Sorry for the thread jacking.

Hmm....just thinking about it. I looked at a 2005 tune and the idle doesn't change between AC on or off.
I put a 200A alternator in my truck from 'Excessive Amperage' and it never worked right.
Headlights would dim at idle, indicators would slow down etc. I didn't want to pick the rev's up to 800 or so just so the alternator would kick in so I put the old 105 back in.
What sort of alternator is the 180? What's the stock alternator and do you still have it so you could try it?
