Default E-fan setup??

Alright, I just bought some LS1 fans off e-bay. I cant hook em right now, what I want to know is, should I take my whole fan shroud (top & bottom) off or should I leave the bottom half on and why?? THANKS!!

take both off. the fans will have there own shroud that will work good.

Thats what I was thinking but I thought someone said to keep the bottom half on for something. THANKS!! Oh, I wanted to check out this harness from Allen but dont know where to go. THANKS!!

You can buy the harness here http://www.nelsonperformance.com/ But you still have to have them turned on on your pcm

Thanks!! I guess nobody would just turn the fans on and set the temps in the pcm?? I would like to get HP tuners later but I want to hook up the fans asap and dont want to spend money doing it not using the pcm and I dont have any mods yet to tune for much less $$$.

well if you want just the fans you can get a relay system from hayden from the local auto parts usually for around 25.00.

Are you talking about just wiring them up with the thermostatically controlled switch? I don't have edit or a custom tune, and I was hoping to wire mine like that. Does that work decently?
