I've got a 4.8L vortec in a 2000 silverado. I'm really get sick of all these little ricers runnin around thinking that they are bad cause they've got an exhaust that sounds like a fart through a straw. The problem is my truck is stock (except for flowmasters and a throttle body spacer) and I dont wanna try stomping anyone for fear of losing to a civic or whatever and having to live with it. Anyone got a good, easy engine mod I could use?

you shouldnt have any problems with civics? When I purchased my truck used it allready had the flows on it and was virtually stock and Ive never had a problem with running average cars on the road. The basic mods are an intake, exhuast, and a computer tune and I think you will be lucky to knock 1 second of quarter mile time with those. My best mod for the buck was the nx nitrous kit i purchased used on ebay for 300.00...good luck.

How much money do you want to spend. that determines how bad you beat em.

start with a good intake to complement your exhaust. then move on to a custom tune. then you should leave civics in the dust

i'd say start off with your basic bolt ons: intake, exaust, headers, shift kit, then a custome tune. later down the road even consider a small stall and cam.

Alright thats cool. I think I'll prolly go with the intake next. Can someone tell me about the Nelson tunes? I've seen a lot of people on here with them.
