I used my large strap wrench and a lot of muscle. Hitting the wrench with a hammer did nothing but ding up my wrench, so I had to lay accross the radiator brace and put some real muscle on it... skinned a couple of fingers when it finally broke free.

Looks like I'm gonna hafta invest in a strap wrench; been swinging with the hammer, snapped the coat hanger wire, nothing................

Dd you try the belt wrap like my pic above? It works on the same principle as a strap wrench IMO

Thanks shu- I looked at it and didn't make snse at first, but now that I'm thinkin'. Say Anyone know of an air tube that I can retrofit say off an escalade that doesn't have that gawdy belly silencer haning beneath it. I measured the one on my mom '07 escalade and it's a weeee bit too short...............

I dont know if this was the best way but when I did mine I just used a C-clamp and clamped the belt to the pulley.. didnt damamge the belt and the nut come right off then I took it off by hand..
