True, but hopefully I don't have a problem with it, someone on here was talking about milling a set of 243s/799s .05 on their LM7, which with the current mill on my heads with the .03 gaskets would put me at .049 closer ptv/pth clearance. Point is that if he's looking for a compressions boost, just milling the 799s .03 isn't going to help as much as he's looking at.

Here's a good article on it

Great article that everyone should read doing a head swap. I can't wait to read your results, I'm very interested. I've got a body lift so I'm hoping that will make things go a little smoother for myself. Anyway theres another set of 799's on ebay for 350 shipped, still trying to find out if they have ls6 valve springs on them. I will just measure them when I get them, but I can't believe someone hasn't had more experience with the 799 springs

According to this, it looks like it does have the .570 springs ("GM Yellow Springs"). Looks like if you really have a question about them, I'd shoot the OP of that thread a pm, he seems to have all the answers on GM casting heads.

Also, I have .570 max lift springs also on my LS6 243 heads, they're not yellow either.

I think so too, thats why these heads are such a good deal, especially if your milling them, and everything that moves on these are NEW! I've been looking for a while and these are the best buy I have found. I going to try and get someone to do some bowl work and smooth the intake runners.
