Its has to loose torque, have you looked at it?? Its a cast version of a sheet metal/tunnel ram intake, which inherently looses torque down low in trade for High RPM gains.

Putting it on a 4.8L is even worse, unless you live at 6000+ RPM and have a large cam this intake is far from optimal for your combination.
Sure its whatever, I've been racing and wrenching for 10 years now, not an expert by any means. But I'm telling you now... If I lost low end torque, why am I litteraly running this truck dog-*** sideways on take off? Its NEVER done that. I do have a large cam for this motor, so that should help a bit, not to mention the head swap and upped compression.

Only hard numbers will tell, thanks for your input. I will report back this evening. I'll be paying close attention to the short times... not 60ft, but 330 and 1/8th, that'll tell me a whole lot w/o getting on a dyno.

Any updates? Also you should have did the heads upgrade with the stock manifold and again with the pro flow to see the actual gain with just the manifold IMO.

Heres the details.

13.28@99 mph DA= 2030 ft.
Corrected to 12.8@101

Previous best was 13.25@99 with DA= -198ft.
Correction factor to not apply.

So... we made progress... just a shitty day. And get this, it was running 11.5 afr all day until the end, where I made back to back 13.3 passes @ 99mph. Thats a tuning issue, we're not sure why, since it was commanded to be 12.8 afr. But theres something in the tune adding fuel, just need to find where and why. Going to check pressure at the rail, o2 sensors, and go back through the tune to find it.

But... I would say, its not worth the effort on the Intake swap. Heads, sure of course. This intake... not for this particular motor.

It flows a LOT of air. But its doing the opposite of what many has predicted. Most people thought i'd lose low end and gain top end. Even with the cutout open, I gained a good bit down low but it lagged up top. According to my logs, there doesnt seem to be restriction in the exhaust or intake system... maybe I need more cam. Don't really know. If I can find a .580 to .600 lift cam for cheap i'll try it just to see. All in all, the intake looks sick under the hood.

That's a big difference in DA, get it to the track with decent weather and you will have 12's. How's the 60'?

Hmmm...I agree. Go there with some better weather. I'm surprised that you don't like it or feel like it's holding you back. Be interesting to see a dyno graph from each set-up.
