Default EGR MOD PROBLEMS

NEW TO THE GROUP . DID THE EGR MOD WHERE YOU CUT THE TUBE INTO THE INTAKE . NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON . ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO DO? ANY INFORMATION WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

as much trouble as this mod seems to cause people, is it really worth it?

Not picking.....just wondering what the positive effects are! I have not done this mod, so I can't really tell you what is wrong. I am sure there is someone here that can help! Good luck.......

i did the mod, i didn't really notice anything but maybe try disconnecting the batt for a little while to see if it clears the code. not saying that will do it but it's worth a shot.

Double check that you have the oring properly seated and the assy sits flush in the intake. Its only held in by the top bolt and it is easy to have a air gap at the bottom. This could be throwing your code.

I've done this mod as well as install a blockoff plate with a 3/16ths hole drilled in it and have gotten no codes. I just cut the tube back to the first crease though.

What's the DTC? Your probably sucking air causing a LEAN code. Check your work.

when i did mine i cut it right the 1st time , but i thought it was supposed to be cut more and i cut the pipe in half...lol... and i epoxied the pipe back in the fitting and put the block off plate w/the 3/16th hole in it and still no codes thrown...lol... i was just really lucky i guess.... just make sure u have the electric egr plugged in ... that is all i can think of..good luck

I APPRECIATE THE INFO. I CUT THE TUBE RIGHT AT THE CREASE, AND HAD A HELL OF A TIME GETTING IT BACK IN. IF I CAN'T GET IT TO SEAL ARE THERE ANY SUGGESTIONS TO FIX? JUST CURRIOUS. ALSO I DONT KNOW OF ANY BENNIFITS JUST SEEN IT ON THE MOD LIST AND THOUGHT WHAT THE HELL. KINDA REGRETING IT NOW BUT WHAT DO YOU DO
