Seriously, there's nothing to it, and nothing is different from GMC to Chevy. The only thing that makes a real difference is running large vs small radiator. The LS1 fans are a good choice for either (they cool my LQ9 SS just fine in 100 degree heat with AC blasting). I got my LS1 fans for $60 shipped with a broken tab on them (didn't need it anyway since it was a lower mounting tab that you don't need putting them into a truck), so it can even be cheap to upgrade. I think I spent another 20 bucks putting together the wiring harness including connectors and pins.

There's an EXCELLENT technical writeup in the ... wati for it ... Technical Write-Ups forum on this site. Like this one. https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-chevy-484892/
All you need is the entire fan system out of a newer truck. Fan assy, bolts that hold it in, harness, and the fuse box piece that has the relays in it. It's all a stand-alone; not part of the main harness, therefore very easy to gank intact.
You'll find that EVERYTHING ABOUT IT bolts RIGHT UP to your truck. The bolt holes for the fan assy are even already there with the nuts welded in.
Basically all ya gotta do is: remove all your existing clutch fan stuff (shroud, fan, clutch), bolt up the fan assy, plop the relay assy in (your truck already has the place for it), hook it up, and enable the fans in the tune. You do need to add 1 pin to the ECM and connect it to the relay assy. Way too eeeeezzzy.
You'll also find that the fans from a still newer truck, maybe 11 or 12 or so, with more powerful motors and more blades on the fans, will bolt in just as well. If you can't find a good used 06ish fan assy at a price you're willing to pay you can just get that from rockauto or some such.
