I have a factory Y that has been converter to an off road Y pipe that I built with cut outs replaceing the Cats I'd sell real cheap. It made my old motor pick up E.T.

It would probably hurt performance more than likely, Down in lower RPMs atleast. Even with LTs. You dont have enough power for an open exhaust, Especially one cutout after each cat. If you must do it, Id wait until you have LTs so it will sounds good atleast, And I would only do 1 cutout just after the Y pipe but before the muffler.

FWIW I had a buddy install a cutout after his Y pipe and he still had stock manifolds on, It sounded worse and about as loud as an after market muffler..

It will be good for sound, I doubt you gain anything from it tho until you put a cam or 6L in..

They sorta help out in the top RPM range, you lose a bit in the bottom
Nothing that noticeable its really more of a sound thing

the 99-07 model headers will fit if ya havent figured that out yet... they run a different flange to the rest of the exhaust but everything else is good... saved me $200 since the 07+ cost more and are basically the same other than that exit flange...
