Default electronic tb to cable driven?

has anyone converted their electronically driven throttle body to a cable driven? i wouldnt imagine it being too hard just running the linkage. if you did do it did you have to get the linkage from an earlier model at a junkyard or something? let me know

I believe you are gonna have to retune your pcm to the older pcm settings. You will set engine codes if you don't.

not that simple. you'll need to change the wiring at the throttle body for the difference with the IAC and the TPS, there is a bracket piece missing on the intake that holds the cable casing ends, you'll lose cruise control and I'm sure there's more that I haven't thought of, but it wouldn't be bolt on swap.

Why would you want to in the first place?

I'm sure the electonic delay in opening and closing the TB is literally nanoseconds slower then a mechanically driven one...

i'm guessing he wants to possibly do a ls6 swap.

You would have to completely change the TB's because one is cable driven vs selinoid driven. Then, you would have to change the ECM, and the wiring to a throttle position sensor. I think it would be a lot of work. I would think a tune on the engine would be much easier and gain similar results.

one thing is that one a cable driven truck you can feel the motor through the cable and into the gas pedal and into your foot, thats impossible on a DBW tb
