eliminate 2500hd 6.0L exhaust drone
I have been through three systems on my 2500hd 6.0L GMC truck the original, the Flowmaster and now a Gibson. I wanted a good sounding system that would not run you out of the truck. I have not found that yet. I was told several times after calling Gibson that there system would be fairly quite and still sound healthy. They were wrong. It is so loud I have been forced to park it b/c it will give almost make your ears blead to ride in it.
Does any one out ther have a sytem that is still a good sounding sytem but doesn't kill you in the cab.
By the way I had to really to hack cut and beat on the Gibson to get it to work and when I emailed them and asked for advise I got nothing.

Mangaflow..... I had a flow master on my truck previously and hated the annoying noise it made escpecially at cruising speed. The mangaflow is quiet on the highway but at good throttle it sounds awesome. And it actually ran a tad (small) bit better with the magnaflow.

I'm gonna vote for the Magnaflow as well....I'm not as concerned about sound as some but in the cab it's as quit as stock on the highway, it's louder in town and while horsing it but never drones unless I have it in overdrive at 25mph going up a hill....and I've got the exhaust dumped before the axle

2004 drone
Thanks I will give them a call and see what they can do. Do you have a single side or dual exit. Right now I have a single 4" pipe and I am told that a sinlge out the side is louder than duals out the back.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

You could also try the Flo Pro HD muffler, they were specifically designed to eliminate drone/ resonation on the GM 6.0L and 8.1L Vortec engines. All the posts I've read after people have switched say they did the trick. There are several to choose from based on your sound preferance, here's a link.

I've got a dual 2.5" in/dual 2.5" out.
A single in/out IMO is always louder than a dual...and dumped out the side will enhance the noise even furthur. Try for a DI/DO dumped behind the rear bumper for max noise control

yeah gibson caused a lot of drone for me as well. If you don't plan on modifying your truck beyond some basic bolt ons you can't go wrong with the corsa systems. Absolutely no interior drone.

My buddy put on the Magnaflow catback that is spec'd for the 6.0. Sounds good with no annoying drone. I ran the Flo Pro 2503 on this exact truck. The Flo Pro 2503 will barely(and I mean barely) be louder than stock. SOTP feels the same.

I have the Flo-Pro on my HD. I have been very pleased with it. At first it is a little quieter that I prefer, but as you drive more the tone gets deeper but the drone stays gone.
