Take a look at these pictures, sure looks like the engine is off to the passenger side by a few inches. I wouldn't think they would set it up differently 2wd to 4/AWD just because all the little fit ups would change. I dunno, maybe it's an optical thing, doesn't seem to make sense.

In OBS trucks the engine is definately on the passenger side. Probably the same on NBS trucks.

How does that work with the driveline lining up? Does the drivesahft make up for the shift when it gets to the diff?

The diff. is offset the same amount as the eng/trans.

The driver-side floormat is wider than the passenger side. Headers are easier on the driver-side since there's more room between the engine and the frame.

They offset the engine to the r/s to help direct the heat from the engine away from the driver and more toward the passenger to help keep the driver cool in the summer...
