Engine runs rough when cold - Why?
For some reason when the engine is cold, it runs bad. If you give it too much gas, it bogs. There is occational black smoke if the truck idles for too long and I give it gas. Once the engine is warm and up at operating temperature, no signs of bogging or black smoke.

Possible Fuel pressure regulator leaking? Pull the hose from the reg and check for fuel, if there's gas in there, the reg is leaking and needs to be replaced. (fp reg is located in the center of the driver's side fuel rail). Other things that come to mind are IAC valve or dirty throttle body (try cleaning the throttle body), and check your tune up parts and make sure they're up to date as a starting point (plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc.)
