Enlighten me on the different truck blocks...
Ya'll have the 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0. Now, what's the difference b/w these? Do they actually have a smaller bore or just a different rotating assembly b/w all of them to increase your displacements? Thanks.

4.8 and 5.3 share the same bore 3.78" but, have different strokes. The 4.8 has a 3.27" stroke while the 5.3 shares the same crank as the 5.7L and 6.0L at 3.622"
The 6.0L bore starts out at 4.00" and has the 3.622" crank.
From what I have seen the 4.8/5.3 block can be bored out to standard 5.7L LS1 size and the 6.0L can go out to 4.03" safely. In some cases it can go out to 4.06" but, the cylinder walls must be checked for thickness.

you can pretty much do whatever you want with the 6.0 block, with stock crank you can go to 375 cubes, and with big stroke you can go 422+ cubes, i was going to build a 422 but backed outta that project and i have the pistons for it sitting in the shop for sale if any interest

the 6.0 blocks also have 6 bolt cross-bolted mains, the 4.8/5.3 "only" have 4 bolt mains

5.7 LS1 and LS6 blocks have 6 bolt mains. Two cross and four in the main caps.
4.8/5.3 have four bolt main caps.
Now my question is... on the main caps with four bolts are the two outermost bolts stronger straight down or on a slight angle? I would assume on a slight outward angle as they would be going into more of the thickness of the block...

Found some info on this page.
Six-bolt main crankshaft bearing caps, which have four of the bolts mounted to the underside of the block and two mounted horizontally from the side of the block, strengthening the block for reduced noise, vibration and harshness and improved engine durability.
