5.7 LS1 and LS6 blocks have 6 bolt mains. Two cross and four in the main caps.

4.8/5.3 have four bolt main caps.


Just to renforce WhiteZ71's post. They are all the same (6 bolt). I have had a 4.8 sitting on a stand in my shop and now have a 6.0 there in it's place.

oops....my bad....I had read that the 4.8/5.3 were 4 bolt....

what would you have if you put a 4.8 crank in a 6.0 block.i.e destroke a 6.0.probably no benefit from it but if it could be done it would be like one of those old odd-ball small-block displacments people have come up with.

it would be a 327 todd, that is the same combo used to make the old school 327 that made so much horsepower, it would rev like a mother and probably make great power with a good flowing set of heads and matching cam and headers, a big stall and good gears and it would be a smokin combo. there is no replacment for displacment but that combo would be the next best thing to having a stock 6.0 due to it's ability to run high high RPMs and make good power.
