Is everyone with 05 E-fans having voltage drop probelms?

Is everyone with 05 E-fans having voltage drop probelms?
I was searching around and noticed some people seeing very noticable volatage drops when their fans kicked on high.
I talked to a well known sponsor who makes the harnesses and he said he wasn't aware of anyone with their harness having these issues. He alsosaid i wouldn't have a problem running them w/ my 105 amp alt. I just thought I'd see what everyone else thought.

Yes. It's almost unbearable. I just ordered a Delta fan controller dccontrol.com, it's a variable speed fan control with a soft start feature. I doubt you will be ok with the 105 amp, when the a/c and headlights are on in the summer my 145 amp won't hold voltage at idle.
Everyone has their own opinion of what is acceptable, but I don't think voltage drop from 13.5 to 12.0 is acceptable when the a/c kicks on, even if it does eventually come back up. IMO the shock to the electrical system will wear **** out faster.

yeah i saw your thread, and that's is what got me worried. I have a 5 channel kicker amp im pushing too. I'm thinking about trying to put a 1 farad capacitor in for the fans along with a 145 amp alt.
I don't know much about electrical stuff, but i was also going to call painless wiring and ask them about their harness and how it works, and if it'd help me out. I want to do it right the 1st time, and have them work like factory fans.
This is my DD and i only want to install the fans once, because if for some reason i have to go back to a clutch fan i have to swap the rad. as well, because my stock shroud i'm sure will not fit on the 34"

My 05 came with them stock, and has a 145amp. when they come on high it def. pulls the voltage down. AC won't blow as hard in the summer time when there on.

I added the 05 fans to my 05 1500HD, hooked them up like the factory ones, pin 42 and 33, set them for my 180 thermostat and they work fine. I've not noticed any problems with lights dimming. They only have a 30 amp fuse.

Which harness are you using? And who did your tuning to use the 2 pins?

It is a Nelson harness. I had to rewire the high speed relay as it came setup to use the a/c 12V to turn it on. The pcm pin 33 grounds out to turn on. They were supposed to wire it for the pcm ground but forgot. I just switched the relay wires to make it work. I did the tuning with EFILive. It has worked fine without any problems for over a year.

So, i guess when i order my harness i will just make sure they wire it to where i can use pin 33 as well. hopefully the place i get it tuned will know how to set it up to run the 2 pin activation set up.
