Exhaust Pipe Sizes
Anyone have any dyno-proven numbers reflecting exhaust pipe sizes? what should inlet piping size be? outlet piping size? dual or single setup? thanks for any help <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

Re: Exhaust Pipe Sizes
Any high end, reputable exhaust shop should be able to give you pipe size due to expected HP numbers....If they have a shop car should be right on the money when they tell you....Remember you want mandrel bent pipe cause the other bends get smaller than origanal pipe diameter...By half inch....Each bend kills hp.....

Re: Exhaust Pipe Sizes
no dyno numbers here but the old hot-rod rule-of-thumb is: dual 2" will support 450-500 HP, dual 2¼" will support 550-650 HP, and dual 2½" will support up to 700 HP. these numbers assume free flowing pipes with no radical bends....a larger outlet then inlet from the muffler will help with scavenging....a litle
and remember..the smaller the primary on the header the better the torque production down low...1¾ primaries tend to kill low end torque production, but....1¼ primaries will kill top end HP...choose your headers and exhaust carefully to avoid either losing torque down low or killing high rpm HP....know what you want to build before you build it
