Default exhaust pressure and big freakin turbos

i was wondering if the 4.8L has enough exhaust pressure from both heads to spin a cummins T46 turbocharger enough to get any useful boost.

even though the massive whine from it will be cool

i dont know anything about that turbo. i ran my stock 4.8 with a t76 and it spooled fine, it was a little laggy but once it spooled up it made some great power. i could brake stall it up nicely too.

Do have any idea what engine it is off of? If it from a Dodge truck it will be way too small you could try 2 of them.

That might be too big for just about anything short of a semi but I also am not familiar with that model...try the turbo diesel registry or TDR group, they might be able to help.

well I think that turbo is about the same size as the gt-67 with a slightly smaller compressor housing. Do you have the specs on it.. The a/r's are both .96...

I think my turbo is on the big side for my 5.3 right now. It takes some RPM's to get up to full boost, but once it's boosting, you are flying! On a 4.8 at gt-67 would be too big unless you are pushing some damn good numbers n/a.
