Default exhaust system question

my current exhaust setup is Longtubes-y pipe-3"cutout-3" exhaust into a stock muffler. my question is when i have my cutout open my truck seems a little slower than when its closed and going through the stock muffler. Anyone have any suggesions why this is? maybe not enough power for 3'' exhaust????

less exhaust restriction = less exhaust velocity = loss in low-end torque.

My bad. I didnt mean that like it sounded. I meant it is quick but then you add a ton of sound but still only quick, then it SEEMS slower.

Like my truck, it seems pretty quick, but when the cutout is open, I feel like it is making a ton of noise but isnt really moving that fast.

I've said it before I'll say it again, a 3" Y pipe is quite big for a stockish 5.3. It may be better once you get the cam in there.

Dont listen to him, he has a stock 6.0.

You will be fine with the cam tho. Just like nobody notices gear changes but drop several tenths at the track with gear swaps.
