Ext. Cab guys with Driveshaft Safety Loops Come In!

when i ordered my driveshaft from danny's it come with the loops, put one up front and one in the rear, the video yall are talking about is from 1slowhoe lose it on the dyno http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y26...t=42d5496b.pbr

Contain the driveshaft in the event of U-joint failure.
Recommended for all vehicles, Competition Engineering's bolt-on driveshaft safety loops will contain the driveshaft in case of front U-joint failure, keeping it from contacting the track and possibly flipping the vehicle. They're made from 2 in. wide, 1/4 in. thick, CNC-formed steel with durable clear zinc plating. They bolt to the floor pan with four bolts per side, and are stronger than other brands using only two bolts per side.

yeah, I bought some, they are still in the rear seat!!! the brand are comp. engineering, seems like they are pretty good quality (very thick metal), thats my homework for the next 2 weeks...

On any car in which the driver sits over or behind the rear-end center section, a suitable protective shild of .120-inch minimum thickness steel plate must be installed for units with universal joints, securely mounted to the rear-end center section and and the bell housing adapter. For straight couplers, the minimum shild requirement i6 .063 inch aluminum, which must contain an inspection cover for removal and inspection of the coupler securely mounted to the rear-end center section and the bellhousing atapter, or as noted in class Requirements. In place of a crossmember, in the vicinity of the front universal joint, all cars in competition using open driveshafts must have a retainer loop 360 degrees of encloser, 1/4 inch minimum thickness and 2 inch wide, or 7/8 x .065-inch welded steel tubing, securely mounted and located within 6 inches of the front universal joint for support of the driveshaft in the event of u-joint failure. Open drivlines passing any part of the driver's body must be completely enclosed in 1/8-inch minimum thickness steel plates, securley mounted to the frame or frame structure.
