While Charlie is correct, if your just trying to get an idea of your target WOT AFR with 100% Methanol, the break down will be close to this:

Power: 6.1 to 5.3, obviously 5.3 being on the rich side of things. 5.8 is a good safe target ratio to shoot for getting started.

After getting your WOT fueling down, for best all around settings you would be shooting for about: 6.5

For economy you would be looking at: 7.6 to 6.5

Of course, I don't believe your going to really be looking for economy or you most likely wouldn't be studying going the Methanol route.

are you going to run straight meth through the entire fuel system?

just wondering , in the 2 stroke world from what i have done , you can make about 10-20% more power on methanol however its a bit more work . like mentioned it has to be run quite a bit richer but also requires purging the system after your done running it. or at least we always did with the alchohol running quads. probably wont be the same on the truck but the rubber fuel lines are eaten up as well as any seals they may pass through.

Agreed, even in cars we would buy WD40 by the case so that we could spray down the inside of the injector hat and into the supercharger and so on. It is very corrosive to aluminum, rubber and paint, so be careful where you let it splash when refueling.

yea im just lookin at a target a/f. this will go on a 14.5:1 comp 406 in my dirt track car. im not worried the least bit about mileage..lol

Tyler, leave the WB on the dyno alone and strap your racecar to it and tune it just like you would for a gas motor, 12.5-12.9. WB's don't read AFR, they read Lambda and convert it to AFR based on fuel type it programed for. Even though it will say 12.5, it will really be much richer since it will be reading Lambda of the alcohol and not gas.

Tyler, don't want to get too far off topic, but just curious, is there an Alcohol class that you'll be running in your dirt track car or something along those lines? Sounds interesting ...

Yea the class I run is allowing alcohol this year and with my tax money Im buyin a 400 block bored .030 with new Ross pistons with rings and new set of Eagle h-beam rods, all this for $500. Ill get a good lightweight crank for it. The cam and heads will be off my 355 that will initially be running on alky till I get the 406 going. Cam will be a Comp solid lifter 4/7 swap 260/266 @.050 .558/.549 106 lsa, Pro-Topline 220cc heads with 50cc chambers.
