I had problems. It would flare on start up real bad. It would cruise without hitting the throttle. Also it would stall at red lights and stop signs(sometimes). I had 2 tuners play with it($$$$). I forget the settings in the tune we ended up adjusting. I think "stall saver" and something to do with flair. I'm not a tuner LOL. We were blaming he 102 TB for the erratic behavior.
I did pick up over .15 at the track. Then the motor blew up.
I am installing it on the new motor. I need new gaskets all around. I want to try what TCR0148 suggested. I'd like to see a pic of the install on his cousin's truck.
I can't give up on this intake. It was too much money.

I just figure, I already spent the money and installed it once. I'm going to deal with it and make the best of it.There are some write-ups on the hptuners forum. Most of that stuff is over my head though.

Bro, trust me......you did not make a mistake! I had issues as well when I first installed the intake. I figured out that my leak was coming from the pcv valve to the manifold on the drivers side valve cover. I by passed pulling vacuum from the mainfold (plugged them off) and ran two catch cans and pulled vacuum from the orfice on the front of the valley cover.

I have a LSXrt on my 402. It has been a bear with idle but it has been running as a weekend driver for 1 year with this setup.

Old intake as my OBS with 78mm maf and it made 434rwhp. When i went to LSXrt and 92 FAST TB it made 507rwhp. We deleted the MAF and converted to Speed Density tuning.

Idle is annoying but liveable.

i have the lsxrt 102 on my 2012 5.3 rcsb install was a pain and idles alot worse than the stock intake. i had area47 retune it and got circled 3200 stall put in and it definately runs bette now but it has a crazy intermittent idle mostly when motor is cold. im getting 4.10 gears and a comp dod/vvt cam in the spring hopefully the intake will respond with the mods! anybody need my stock intake with only 3000 miles on it?

When mine was on the 5.7 with the 232/234 i had a lot of flare on start problems, got that worked out by changing the crank flare table. After that had no problems, I did notice that on the 5.7 and the 390 it does idle a little higher (900) then the stock intake did, but the gains seem worth it to me. Overall im glad i made the switch.
