Final selection of 408 build parts
I think I finally have down what I am going to do with the 408. Anyone see any potential problems?
Crank - Callies DragonSlayer
Main bearings - Clevite
Main studs - ARP main studs
Rods - Callies Compstar 6.125"
Rod Bearings - Clevite
Rod bolts - ARP 2000
Pistons - Wiseco -25cc dish model#K392A3
Piston rings - TotalSeal 1/16, 1/16, 3/16
Oil pump - Melling high volume
Timing chain - LS2
Timing gear - LS2
Cam bolts - ARP
Cam bearings - Federal Mogul
Camshaft - Vinci Trucker (temporary till I go FI - 216/224-551/551-115)
Lifters - Reuse stockers
Pushrods - Chrome Moly
Rocker Arms - reuse stockers
Valve springs - Crane dual sprigns
Retainers - titanium
Locks - stockers
Valve seals & seats - new seals with worked heads
Valves - Stainless valves
Heads - WCCH Stage 2 317's (74cc)
Head gaskets - Cometic .03"
Head bolts - ARP 12 point studs
Front, rear, valley covers - reuse stockers
Oil pan - reuse stocker
Oil pickup tube - reuse stocker
Windage tray - reuse stocker
Intake manifold - Vic Jr
Fuel injectors - 55-60#'ers
Fuel rails - not sure yet - does the Vic Jr come with them?
Gasket and seal kit - might reuse LQ9 gaskets, only 20K miles on them
Crank pulley - reuse stocker
Crank balancer bolt - ARP
Galley plugs - reuse stockers
Block prep - Magnaflux, hone, surface/deck, new freeze plugs
Freeze plugs - new with block work
Block - Worked over LQ9 block
Rotating assembly balancing
Sound pretty good? This should put me between 9.0 and 9.1:1 compression depending on how much is taken off the deck.

Nope just block off the PCV on both covers. Also upgrade to morel lifters you might as well they are made for high rpessure springs and rpm and are just a much more stout lifter. They may cost money now but they would be a PITA to replace later on. Or you can go with the LS7 lifters, thats what Im going to try out they seem to be good and reliable for our app.
