I dont think the forged crank is required but if it makes you feel better, ok.
Upgrade the lifters as mentioned
Spring for the 96# injectors now or buy them when you go FI.
Oil pan gasket
Hurry up!

What power adder are you going with? Turbo? Im waiting on my 408 to be built right now. Im just gonna run HC NA for a couple years then put a D1SC on.

Turbo. That's the plan for me too, build the 408 now and go turbo when I can afford to.

Intake manifolds - I am going to stick with a stock one - trying to decide between LS6, LS2, and SSR. Thoughts?

Anyway....I changed a few things and got everything ordered today. Pistons are custom, so that may take 2-3 weeks, so hopefully I'll be up and running in a month or so.

Heads WCCH stage 2 317's (74cc)
Head gaskets Cometic .03
Head bolts ARP studs (make sure I get 12 point)
Intake manifold SSR manifold
Fuel injectors 42#'ers

Yep I got almost all of the parts, still waiting on a few minor things, but I took the block and rotating assy to the machine shop last Friday. If all goes well I will have an assembled short block back in my possession by this Friday. Of not, middle of next week.

If I get it back on Friday I should be back up and running this weekend, barring any show-stopping problems
