finally done w/ my e-fans

Default finally done w/ my e-fans

this is every thing i did. i took my fan shroud cut it off after 2" from the radiater, took the two pieces of fan shroud(top and bottom) layed it on the ground, took my ls1 fan shroud (the part that the fans attach too) layed it on top of the original shroud and marked the overhang. cut the ls1 shroud so it fits into the original shroud. super glued it in place. installed to make sure everything fit. took out. (this is where a lil bit of skill is involved) i duct taped the front of the new shroud, covering the holes between the ls1 shroud and the original. flip over and fiberglass holes between the two shoulds. let dry, flip back over, take duct tape off, sand, paint. and thats it
and just incase you were wondering why i used duct tape, fiberglass doesnt stick to duct tape. well it sticks but it doesnt adhere like it does to everything else.

i also took everything apart sanded and painted it.

this is the finished shroud

this is everthing back together

looks brand new, can any one tell it came off a 94 ls1? looks good for $25 and a lil time and paint.

Damn good job. Looks great, I may have to try my hand at this fiberglassing stuff.

94 ls1? must be a rare model lookin good, what grit did you use on that plastic to sand it and what'd you paint it with

120 grit and i think the paint was rustolem professional (the big silver can) why do you say 94 ls1 rare model did they not have them in 94(that is what the junkyard told me)

97 was the first year of the ls1, only in vettes, then 98 in f-bodys. either they got the year wrong or its from an lt1, those were made in 94

Looks great! Very nice work. Just goes to show that a little extra effort goes a long way.

Look like LT1 fans, but they work fine too.
