Default Finally got a track time...little dissapointed

This was my first time to run a vehicle on the track, so I didnt expect a great time, but was hoping for a little better. I ran a 14.5 at 93 with a 2.1 60 foot. I was hoping to run around a 13.8-14.0. Since my time was lower than expected I figured my mph might be high enough to give an idea if my time should be alot better.....but 93mph seems low too.The time and mph makes it seem i'm making no power. With my mods I thought at least my mph would be decent(even though it is a 4.8 )I've seen some stock 4.8's run 15.5....so with all my mods i've only managed 1 second better???The run was with no weight reduction and the sway bar was still on.The temp was about 83-85 degrees and real humid.Track was at NPR in Lousiana.I did see a Lightning run a 14.4 twice at about 96mph. I'm thinking I might be running lean, but could that cause that much of a HP loss??I wish I had made more runs and bumped the fuel up on my Predator but I didnt
What do you guys think???
Sorry so long and rambling.

I dont know ..There were some other trucks there that were making some good runs, but I think they were running nitrous.Does poor weather not affect a nitrous vehicle as bad as F/I or N/A??
Most of the cars I saw run seemed to tun what I expected them too...but I have no idea what some of there mods were.Saw a s/c cobra run 12.4's,whick is what I heard they run stock, but I dont know if he was stock or not.

Your 60' isn't great, do you use slicks or is traction a problem. My truck ran 14.2 at 93.X, so you can be faster. To go 13's your MPH is going to have to be in the 95-100 range, which means you are going to have to make more HP. NOS is not affected nearly as much as SC or NA, because it its oxygen dense. When the cooler weather gets here you will make much better gains. Get an NX wet kit and spray a 35 shot, and you will have winter time results or better.

How much boost are you running? If you get your 60 foot times down it will really help. I am running 1.8-1.9 60 foots with a 13.1 et. We are working in 12's very soon.........after the trans is rebuilt!

I'm running 6 pounds of boost. My 60 foot could be better,I knew it would not be good, first time on the track.Thats why I was hoping my mph would be good enough,so that I could get an idea what my e.t. could be with a better 60 foot.
Maybe these damn 4.8's are really 170hp stock and not 270

I was hoping that the truck would be capable of a 13.5 with a good driver.I was just looking at the fastest truck list and It looks like I would have to be running around 97-101 mph.Im way off that. What does it take to get a mid 13 out of a 4.8??...put in a 6.0 and call it a 4.8?? :p
Do I not have the mods to pull a mid 13??
A bolt on 5.3 can do it....but a s/c 4.8 with gears and converter cant??

Who are you dealing with for your predator tunes? Johan, James ??
What are some of the readings you saw?

How far is the closest dyno tuning facility? Wideband, etc?
I would think you need a all out custom session to unlock your trucks potential.
03 cobras up here run 12.6-12.8 stock w/decent drivers.
That lightning was running slow, The only one I have seen run mid 14's was when they tosted them up at the start.

I saw really bad results after installing the predator and 1 month later I'm finally seeing better results after a custom tune, still know where near what I was before.

Your truck is awesome and you just need to unlock it's potential, 4.8 or not, even in hot weather with good traction you should see 13's now.

The heat affects mine tremendously. During the spring of '02 when the weather was good my 5.3/whipple combo went 13.6x at 100-101. In August of '02 when it was 95+ degrees it went 14.4x at 95 in the same tune. You might as well stay away from the track during the hot weather with the whipple if you are looking for numbers to brag about.
