Finally got tranny fixed and converter installed
After 3 months of having to baby the throttle because of my 2nd gear going south, the tranny is finally fixed and the Yank TT3000 is in. Just in time for all the rain we are having. It feels good so far but I haven't been able to do much testing yet. When I have found dry roads it was on the highway so I did get to do some 60+ testing and it felt great. You don't even know the converter has changed from stock when cruising, it just locks up like the stock one. This is my first 'built' tranny and I can't believe how hard it is shifting, even at full throttle the truck jumps forward. Now if it would just stop raining I could do some real testing from a dead stop.

Re: Finally got tranny fixed and converter installed
I had the tranny rebuilt to withstand up to 575hp and came with a 12month/12,000 mile warranty. The guy who built it showed me what had been damaged on the stock set up. There is a 'cup' on the end of the input shaft which was worn and warped so bad that even after being milled 1/1000th it was still not usable. This 'cup' was replaced and a hardened input shaft was installed too. Many parts were changed from plastic to aluminum and he also replaced the pansy servo that comes in our trucks with one that is better than the vette servo(I saw all 3 side by side). I am very satisfied with it so far and can't wait to make it to the track.

Re: Finally got tranny fixed and converter installed
My mods are listed below. I have the 5.3 and 3.73's and will be replacing the JBA's with AS&M's soon. After that I would like to get a smaller pulley for more boost and LS1 Edit. My truck really needs higher shift points and the TQM deleted.

Wow now there is someone here who can vouch that my truck actually exists. Your truck is nice, I like the stance too. Are those Budnik wheels? Oh about racing you, I thought you were on your cell phone and didn't want to race. Vehicles were stacking up behind us so I just took off thinking you weren't interested after all, then I saw that you actually did take off. Do you ever go to the local hangout on Saturday nights with the street racing crowd? I got my led tail lights from HI TECH. Thanks for the compliment. I have true dual 3 inch exhaust with the 2 chamber flowmasters dumped just before rear end. Are you from Austin?
