Default Finally, I Dynoed The New 212/218 Cam! Have Numbers Vs The Z06 Cam!

Went to the dyno yesterday & dynoed the new cam, here is a rundown:
  • AFR was 12.7, When we got a little leaner it did not like it
  • The timing advance we ramped up to 32.0 degrees
  • I was actually running 89 octane on pump gas! NO ****! NO DETONATION!
  • RWHP was 279 befored I nailed down the tuning
  • with AFR correction & timing My last pass was 285 RWHP with 270 FTlbs of torque!
  • My best dyno with the Z06 was 285 back in december much cooler temps, last month dynoed 272 rwhp
so I gained 13 RWHP & about 17 FTLBS of torque with the new cam, the great thing is that this cam comes on much sooner (abouth 1500rpms) sooner than the Z06. The exciting part for me is that I have achieved the same numbers vs the Z06 with the addition of the stall convertor & much higher temps outside. I believe this winter I could see 300 RWHP out of a NA tuned 4.8 with just the bolt on's!

I hope to give you guys some comparitive numbers to go by if you are considering a cam, we have video that we are trying to figure out how to download it now, tigerfan187 got it on video last night & he is a little slow so give him some room...lol....

The other thing is this cam LOVED THE TIMING WE gained just about all of the exta 7 hp off timing advance (32 degrees on 89 octane)

Ihope you find this info useful...
