FIPK and TB spacer

FIPK and TB spacer
A buddy of mine said that the FIPK kits barely fit on stock trucks, and that it definitely won't fit with a TB spacer. My TB spacer is making my stock intake rub the fan shroud now. Anyone have any experience with this?

THIS IS MY LONGEST POST YET! GEEZ!:
I think i was probably one of the first people around this area to make both fit.
i had to cut the center of the fan shroud away to make it fit, and i also had to saw a bit of the intake tube off as well.
I then took the plastic lining that makes your windows seal around the cut pieces to mock the stock fan setup to try and not lose any cooling effect. Many, many people told me that it would not work, even techs from stylin concepts, but as you can see i made it work.
As far as the performace aspect, i dont believe that his spacer makes much of a difference.
It is actually a pain in the **** to cut, trim, cut, trim, and then again and again.
Then if you cut too much of the intake tube, you will have to make the rubber seal act like a piece of the intake tube around the throttle body because on mine, i cut too much, so the tubing did not completely fit around the throttle body.
FINAL VERDICT:
DON'T INSTALL THE SPACER UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR TRUCK TO WHISTLE AND THAT'S ABOUT IT.
IT LOOKS COOL, SOUNDS COOL, BUT THE INSTALL IS LESS THAN COOL AND THE GAINS IF ANY ARE NOT NOTICEABLE.

I wonder if there is a difference in clearance, but I have a UPD with the TBS. The tube touches the shroud and there is around a 1/4" clearance from the fan. I have a 2001 Yukon 5.3. If I ever get a digital camera I will take some pics of it.

As 01-Z71 said, and I will verify that the TBS and K&N FIPK will not fit with the stock fan w/o cutting the K&N tube. With the TBS and fipk, the tube will hit the fan blades even after you trim the shroud. Put the TBS on the shelf until you get electric fans. I agree that it doesn't do much, but I have it so I used it. I definatly doesn't hurt.

Electric fans, here I come! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I tried to install it anyway and the tube definitely hit the fan blades. Guess I have to wait another week!
I've heard of a place in Miami (TA Creations) that sells the F-body elec fans for $100. From what I can tell, that's a pretty decent price. I'm going to order them next Thursday (payday) and get rid of the clutch fans.

Ballpark on used fans is 75-125. I have the LT1 fans, but I ordered LS1 fans today for a backup set. I have not had any problems with the LT1's, but they are kinda loud and the motors are not the best in the world. They do free up some power though. Worth the install. Good luck.
