Plus pay to get them mounted, balanced, valves and such. so 87 bucks don't sound too bad considering your gonna pay 40 - 60 shipping.
i believe you have to pay shipping and i asked the firestone guy how mucht o mount and balance and he said 20 bucks a tire. I know you can probably go to a cheap tire shopr to mount for cheap but that is what he charged

man, stay away from that guy, buy your tires and then go to walmart or somewhere to have them mounted and balanced. 20 bucks a tire is high. he is asking well over 400 bucks for the whole deal. i paid 30 bucks to mount balance and dispose of my old tires.

I have been happy with the factory Generals-counting the original 4, I think I have had a total of 11 of them. I had been buying them cheap from a place that sells takeoff parts, but evidently General discontinued the Ameri 660, so I started shopping around recently. I wasn't really impressed with the selection in the 255 70 16 size. The Firestones were at the top of my list and today I finally broke down and had some installed. $364 out the door at a local dealer. They definitely hook better than the worn out Generals on dry pavement, and it rained tonight so I got a little taste of wet traction. So far I am impressed, but I only have 100 miles on em so far. I will keep you guys posted after I get a little more seat time with them.

I really liked the Kuhmos I had on my Stang and my dad has some on his older vette. If I got some 20s, I would have went with the Kuhmos. I got 18s and some Falkens since they had a treadwear rating similar to an all-terrain.

the kumhos are supposed to be a nice tire from the reports i have read. the major drawback to them is the treadwear and noise. most people complain of excessive noise after they get a little worn.

i have narrowed down my tire search to a 265 70 16 firehawk indy 500 and a falken stz04 in the same size. the falken looks real nice and the price is about the same as the indy.

L-eater, which truck did you put the indy's on, the charged motor or the work truck? if you are getting them to hook with the charged motor then that is great. might make my decision making a little easier.
