Default First build 6.0 help with parts list.

this is my first engine build so bare with me.I have no idea what to get.

I'm wanting to build a 6.0 and found a block that will need to be punched out to 6.2 size (don't know how much). from what I have heard I can use factory crank and use LS3 rods and pistons. If so what would be a good cam and what heads? I have 799 on the 5.3 now. If I milled them .030 new springs (size?) can I still use them on the new build and have good or better compression than stock 6.0? This will be in a daily driver, any help or a good part list would be great. I would like I to have a nice sound but still have low-end.

truck is
2004 Z71 silverado 4X4
4L80e (stock)
4.88 gears
35x12.50 R17's
LT headers/cat less exhaust

Why it need to be bore to 6.2 for?if you get flat top you can just bolt 243/799 on it be like 10.9-11.0 c/r.if it was me I just bore it 370 or 408 and be done. 5.3,5.7 and 6.0 has the same rods 6.0 I think has a bigger crank (could be the same).get the ls2 hd timing chain. Ls7 lifters and pushrod checker the get push rods.if you want a big cam in it may want to valve relives on the pistons.
Note: if you take your block to get any machine work make sure you have your piston on hand when going!!!

243 heads unmilled on a 4.065 bore with flat top pistons would be 11.28:1 compression ratio. Do you like racing fuel?

not for a daily driver... I have a set of SDPC 5.3 heads with 61.1CC I was hoping to use. I'm not sure what the CR would be with them being 61.1CC on the 6.0. also what would be a decent sounding/daily driving cam and springs?

Even more than the unmilled 243s, you would need dished pistons for sure.

what CC heads should I look for to run flat tops pistons? or what would be the best option?

or what would 317's with flat tops be? or should I go dish and mill them down?

I'm still trying to grasp all this.

317 heads on a 6L with flat top pistons is 10.1:1, the same heads on a 6.2 bore would be 10.4:1, both of these combos would be great. FWIW in my area the gas quality stinks, my avalanche is 10.3:1 and detonation is a big problem. Since you have a heavy truck also 10.1-10.4 is about as far as id go on a daily driver that is heavy.

I dont give advice on cams, everyone has their own taste so you will have to find that on your own.

But....In my truck I run a 214/224 .600/.600 118 and its fine with a trailblazer torque converter, which is only a few rpm higher stall than a stock truck converter.

okay, thanks. so if I went with dish pistons and a .030 mill I would still work out about the same CR correct?
