Default flex fuel

I was reading the fine print on the sticker of my '05 and noticed it was a 5.3 flex fuel, what gives?

Flex fuel means you can run E85 or 85% ethanol 15% gasoline, I think the only difference engine wise is bigger fuel injectors.

The injectors are different, wiring harness connectors to injectors are different and the fuel pump is different.

i got the simple motor bigger injectors sound better.

I think some of the seals are diffrent as well, E85 doesnt go well with stock seals or exposed aluminum parts....anyone know what years they put the flex fuel on?

Started in '02. I believe all SUV's with the 5.3 have had the flex_fuel since 02. Only some of the trucks get the flex-fuel but it has been available in the 5.3 since '02.

that sounds about right. i'd rather have the flex fuel vehicle for modifying. they have a large fuel system to start with.
