Default flex fuel

i was gonna buy this 07 silverado classic, 5.3 extended cab, 2wd but then noticed that the engine was the L59. which is the 5.3 flex fuel. whats the difference between this engine and the LM7 5.3? is it just a sensor and an extra computer that allows it to run the alternative fuel? i plan to put heads/cam on the truck. would i be better off with finding one with the regular 5.3?

Id by the flex fuel over the regular one, Ive heard they come with 30lb injectors instead of the other 24lbers. Gaskets and seals in the fuel system are different, buy the flex fuel. And you can run your truck off moonshine now

well i plan to only run unleaded gas. while running regular gas is there any difference between the two engines? power, mileage, sound? if only the fuel system is different, then does that mean the long block and intakes are the same? so head/cam any other bolt on will work?

My tahoe is flex fuel. No other real differences. Main parts are the same. It has larger injectors, larger coil packs, and the ability to sense ethanol in the fuel system and adjust the fueling accordingly. As far as power output and modability of the truck, it should be virtually identical.

some of the non flex fuels are rated at 310 hp vs the 295hp. One is an iron block, one is aluminum...i forget which is which but i think all flex fuels are 295hp...tq is the same though
